Payday to Host D.C. Happy Hour at Marx Cafe Friday Sept 28th

Folks,

I’m back in DC this weekend and this Friday and we plan on throwing a blowout “Old School Mt P” happy hour at Marx Cafe. Appetizers are half off from 5-7 including the beloved ball of flaming cheese known as Saganaki.

A lot of folks from the worlds of journalism, union organizing, and Mt P living have already told me they can’t wait to consume exploding cheese and raise some money to fund labor reporting in news deserts.

Last year, Payday raised $35,000 in 12 months. So far in the first 9 months, we have raised $33,810.

As we compete for grants, our grassroots fundraising is vital to show up today and show them what kind of publication we are.

Partying will start around 5 pm and who know what time it will go, word on the street is Fatima Hussein is coming….
