Payday Report is an Emmy-nominated labor and racial justice media outlet that has a proven ability to change activists' thinking about labor and immigrants rights organizing.

In recent weeks, Payday has been speaking to many unions and most seem totally unprepared both politically and legally to defend their immigrant union members.

Already, dozens of union-backed Democrats like Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) and Congressman Chris Deluzio (D-PA) have backed the anti-immigrant Laken Riley Act, but most unions have remained silent in calling out these Democrats for betraying union members.

Worse, many unions lack legal defense strategies to defend their immigrant union members.

Payday intends to show unions how they can do more for their immigrant members while, at the same time, holding accountable those unions that do not help their immigrant members.

Payday Report has had a huge impact on how activists think about organizing and how major media outlets cover organizing.

We have collaborated with outlets ranging from NPR's This American Life to CNN to the leading Brazilian magazine Revista Forum.

The Washington Post credited us in a front-page story as the first publication to systematically track the massive strike wave during the first Trump Administration. With union approval ratings at a historic 70%, unions will play a crucial role in fighting back against Trump.

Our investigation into the spike of deaths of low-wage undocumented construction workers in Nashville led to the city passing comprehensive safety reforms credited with saving lives.

Our work questioning why more unions did not have plans to defend members against deportation forced a debate within the labor movement. We have nearly two decades of covering farmworkers and worked on the Eva Longoria-produced documentary Food Chains

Now, we need to build up a travel and reporting fund to cover how unions and social movements can fight back against deportations.

During the first Trump Administration, Payday Report covered many workplace raids targeting immigrant workers, a tactic that the Trump Administration plans to bring back.

We must have a travel fund to deploy rapidly to cover large-scale workplace raids that often involved hundreds of workers during Trump's first term.

Due to the importance of educating activists about how to defend immigrants from deportations, Payday is giving its reporting away free of charge to any publications that want to use it.

Donate to help us fight back against deportations & defend immigrants.
