Folks,

2026 will be my tenth year producing Payday Report full-time and produced more than 1,400 articles in this time. It’s going to be one of Payday’s more transformative years as we seek to hold workshops and train others in how to build a movement of newsletter writers across the United States.

No longer are we going to focus solely on putting out the news; we are going to start offering courses and workshops to other groups that want training on how to create their own newsletters to cover their regions. These trainings will teach groups how to write, fact check, set up mass email lists, and crowdfund.

Currently, Payday in conjunction with other organizations that want to collaborate are getting ready to launch several projects to train people in labor and community organizing newsletter writing. We are working on setting up mutual distribution networks to help spread content of a citizen journalist movement. We will have more details on this launch soon.

If you are interested in hosting a training or getting involved in something like this, email me melk@paydayreport.com.

To kick off the year right, we would like to raise $2,026 as we finalize our
curriculum and start hosting workshops. This money goes to paying Amos Wolf, our community engagement editor with money to build a project.

Payday has always had a significant impact on the conversation. In nearly 10 years in business, we have published nearly 1,500 articles and nominated for an Emmy. We have been nominated for an Emmy

As a result of crowdfunding, I was the only American labor reproters covered that covered Lula from São Bernardo do Campo to the Oval Office, published almost 1,500 articles, and were credited by The Washington Post as the first publication to systematically track the post-pandemic strike wave.

For ten years now and nearly 1,500 Payday articles. We have always have an impact and we are about to have a bigger impact as we train others to write labor and organizing newsletters. So to help us start off 2026 as we get ready to release a new exciting project by raising $2,026 to train others in how to writing newsletter.

If you are interested in hosting a newsletter writing training or want to attend one, email me melk@paydayreport. We are planning on releasing a need survery for training soon.
