WATCH: Lula's Comeback Fight in Brasil & the Carnaval Party Atmosphere Driving a Campaign of Happiness.

Three weeks ago, Lula trailed by 1.8% in the first round of the Brazilian Presidential Election. It looked like he was down in the race, but then a group called "Lula's Army" launched on WhatsApp and grew to more than 10 million supporters across Brasil.

Lula's Army began organizing mass parties and festivals to attract supporters. They quickly became parties mobilizing hundreds of thousands of Brazilians, drawing more and more support for Lula's campaign as Bolsonaro waged a campaign of terror and fear.

Last week, more than a million people went down to Copacabana Beach to party for Lula. Payday was on the scene, and it was remarkable. I hope everyone takes a few moments to watch this video we edited with help from a collective of left-wing Brazilian video journalists.

Now we are heading out to cover a party of more than a million people on Avenida Paulista.
