We are working on a big story about 27,000 teachers unionizing in Fairfax County, Virginia (the 9th largest school district in the nation). If successful, it would be the largest public sector union election in nearly 5 decades.
This movement could serve as a catalyst, inspiring organizing efforts throughout the South. Moreover, a surge in unionization in Virginia could potentially shift the state’s political landscape, solidifying its Democratic stance, a trend that has been gaining momentum in recent years.
