I haven’t been sleeping much because I have been writing so much. We need to hire on some more labor reporters
As a result of an increase in donations for election coverage, Payday is seeking to hire a Bill Greider Fellow for Labor Reporting to work 15-20 hours a week until the election. Pay for the position is $30-an-hour and requires on-site work in Western PA.
When I was a young labor reporter in my 20s, I would listen to Bill all the time tell me stories about his experience reporting in the 1960s in Louisville. The fellowship was created as a way to help young reporters in their early 20s gain experience in labor reporting.
Payday is seeking someone for a part time role, who can assist in filming videos for Tik Tok and Instagram, coordinate social media functions, and perform research. There will be opportunities to help with reporting on stories and perhaps publish some.
We are looking to hire someone immediately, who has some experience using both Tik Tok and Instagram, who can step in and assist more senior reporters in their election coverage.
Payday Report is a small publication, but we have a big impact.
Recently, we worked with This American Life. We have been cited on the front page of The Washington Post, featured on NPR’s All Things Considered Labor Day broadcast, and profiled on American Portrait on PBS.
Esquire described our work as “invaluable,” The New York Times called us a publication with “new energy,” and our work on CNN’s United Shades of America was nominated for an Emmy.
We are looking to hire someone immediately. Please send a short intro email of a few paragraphs with a resume listing relevant experience and why you want to work with Payday Report to melk@paydayreport.com.
