Folks,
The past couple of weeks for Payday Report have been busy. In addition to regular newsletters and breaking major news about the UAW this week, I'm exhausted after doing two labor-intensive, long-form looks at community organizing in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
I traveled up to Ambridge, Pennsylvania, and did an in-depth look at how a local community was responding to an ICE raid. (See our story "Following ICE Raid, Mill Town Fights Back Against Local Police Cooperation". )
Then, I worked through this weekend to write a 2,000-word multi-media essay, "Bernie Rally of 2,300 Boosts Wheeling, West Virginia Youth-Led Movement".
With the weather so great, I had planned to take the weekend off to enjoy the outdoors. However, a check that was expected this week did not arrive, and I don't have enough money to do much more than hang around my apartment in Pittsburgh.
As a labor reporter, living on a tight budget, it's frustrating when checks don't arrive as expected and I need your help to take some time off. I promise when I get back next week that I'll be rested and ready to go on doing some great reporting.
