For the past few weeks, I have been struggling with the effects of COVID, fatigue, and muscle aches. I am hoping to take two weeks off for winter break to rest up. However, as a self-employed labor reporter, I don’t have paid sick days, so I need your help to take two weeks off for the holidays.

With many people offline during the holidays, it will be tough for Payday to raise money so we really need your help to pay bills and allow me to take some days off from labor reporting/fundraising.

We have some major projects planned for when I get back including our continuing coverage of the fight for a first union contract at Volkswagen. I plan to go up to Detroit to cover how autoworkers are preparing for the coming UAW presidential elections.

I have a big piece in the works looking at lawfare attacks on support for Palestinian rights.

Additionally, I have ideas that I want to explore about what the uprising by teachers unions in swing suburban districts mean for the coming election.

All of this is in addition to coverage of daily news, immigration raids, and so much more. Our readers help sustain us as a publication and we need your help to keep growing.

So, please donate, so that I can take a couple of weeks off and get back to work.

Love & Solidarity,

Melk
