Folks,

For the past week and a half, I’ve been struggling with the flu and unable to work very much. As a result, I am slightly behind where I should be in fundraising for my monthly budget (although our strong fundraising efforts recently have left us in a good position to still meet our goal in the next week with the help of readers like you).

We are currently $1,300 short of our monthly goal. This money helps pay my full-time salary, our part-time editor, health insurance, web hosting services, and more.

Workers, especially immigrants, are taking a beating and it’s easy to be discouraged because the mainstream media isn’t showing how people are protesting in record numbers. This is why we need non-corporate press more than ever.

Trump may want to defund, but it just means that we are gonna have to step up and fund ourselves. If we don’t tell the story of workers fighting back, who will?

In the past few weeks, Payday has covered how the labor movement is organizing in unprecedented ways . We also covered how Brazilians are taking on the Trump Administration. These aren’t stories you will see in many outlets, which is why we must protect Payday Report to help fight back against these fascists.

All we have is each other to tell our stories

Love & Solidarity,

Melk
